Dubbo - Round & About

We decided to give the zoo a miss (generally the comments regarding the zoo we found tended to be on the negative side). Walked around the city for a couple of hours before heading out to the cultural centre and art museum only to find it was closed on Tuesdays. Doubled back and called in at the Dubbo RSL for lunch. Risked $20 on the pokies and won $100.70 which paid for lunch and contributed to the cost of petrol.

A place for the inmates to "Hang" out

Finally ended up at the Dubbo Jail (I hate the word 'Goal' with a passion). The tour around the complex and audio recordings along with the animation made this attraction a must see. Learnt about the inmates, what their crimes were and for a luckless few, their end on the end of a noose. A little window shopping and back to the caravan.

Weather-wise, it was extremely cold at night followed by a beautiful sunny and warm day in Dubbo.
