Cobar - The Journey
Dubbo to Cobar was a tad under 300 kilometres which we completed in about 3.5 hours. Most of the journey was behind a road train. Head winds were quite noticeable however the Barrier Highway was in very good condition. Weather-wise, we started out in quite cold conditions however, during the morning the sun broke out and blue skies covered the sky overhead. Later in the afternoon it clouded over - a precursor to the cold night about to descend.
We didn't bother unhitching the rig as we are only staying overnight and there are no surrounding locations that beckoned our attention. We will have a relatively early start in the morning as the trip to Broken Hill will be nearly 500 Kilometres. We have also taken on extra water which will consume petrol due to the additional load
The only animal we saw on the trip to Cobar was a fox as it scurried across the highway.
We stopped for a short break about 70 Kilometres before arriving in Cobar.
