Home, NSW - The journey

Well, we are finally on the last leg of our adventure from Parkes to Rooty Hill. Most of the drive was along the Bells line of road, which by its nature, was not the easiest of roads to travel as the photographs will bear testiment to.

For those you contemplating the same, or simalar trip - Do it!

The journey between Goolgowi and parkes was 284 kilometres.

We walked around the town on arrival (bought Buddy a warm winter coat to wear).

Parkes seems to be well established with all the major retail outlets available. We will dine out tonight at an Italian restaurant.

Tomorrow we will visit the famous radio telescope about 20 kilomtres out of town

The caravan park was rated 3.5 stars and seemed very nice. We got a terriffic spot.

Just a short journey of 280 kilomteres between Goolgowi and Parkes. The 'B' roads were bumpy and quite a lot of traffic was encountered. The weather was mostly kind although it did drizzle now and again.

Essentially, this was not my best decision, but it was only for a night

Last of the longer journeys (Mildura to Goolgowi was 440 Kilometres). Roads were good, mostly Highway. The weather was very good. Stopped at the roadside just out of Renmark for breakfast, the landscape looked worse than the Nullarbor.

Great caravan park. We got a 'drive-through' with on-suite for $31.00 for the night. Adequate facilities in this fairly large caravan park.

360 Kilometres from Burra to Mildura made for an easy drive along the 'B' roads. There was a fair amount of traffic, mostly caravanners. The weather was much kinder than yesterday, sunny and relatively warm.

364 kilometres from Kimba to Burra on B roads. Very little traffic encountered on these winedy roads

We walked around Kimba to take a look at the surrounds. It appears Kimba was originally a lead mining location. The mine owners had cottages built for it's employees. We felt that Kimba reminded us of an English Hamlet.

The caravan park was failry large with all facilities. Staff were friendly and informative. The site fee was the lowest in the entire trip.
